![]() ![]() Moses Marcy was ordered by William Pepperrell (who is the acting Governor of Massachusetts) to move Colonel John Chandler’s regiment of troops to Fort Edward to ward off the French Canadians and Indigenous enemy forces. The following is a letter he wrote the Governor during that war. It was from these services that he obtained the title Colonel.
